The power of song

I had a wonderful weekend this past weekend. Three days were spent in the dismantling racism workshop, where we sang, prayed and learned together. The amazing voices of Vivian, Boyd and Moussa helped us in that prayer. Then Sunday evening I had the joy of attending a benefit for the Loyola Spirituality Center at which Marty Haugen, Michael Joncas and David Haas all performed together as 1000 people sang along. Wow.

Music is powerful, music can be healing, and for me at least, all kinds of music are often prayers. Here’s one to enjoy on this fall afternoon:
