Why we continue to fight FISA

I know that Congress looks like it’s giving up and rolling over, but there are still reasons why we should be fighting FISA and its retroactive immunity for telecoms. Among there are the things we continue to learn, including all of the new ways in which our government is spying on us.

Talking with global climate change skeptics

You might suppose that there are very few people left who question whether or not serious global climate changes are underway, caused by humans. But there are (both serious changes, and many skeptics) — and some of the skeptics are friends of mine. Here’s a useful site with a ton of links off to the science, if you find yourself in conversation with a skeptic.

Love and forgive

Here’s an interesting site — it’s a combination of PBS video, text blog, and other resources — about love and forgiveness. In particular I found their letting go ritual surprisingly moving. And amongst their teaching resource links was this one to a wonderful site about learning to give, which included a ton of folk tales.
