Urge Senators to vote against Gonzalez
I am not impressed with
Alberto Gonzalez's evasions and forgetfulness during his Senate confirmation hearings. And I am appalled at the
growing evidence of deliberate support of torture at the highest levels that is emerging. One concrete thing you can do, right now, is urge your Senators to vote against Gonzalez's confirmation.
An excellent action alert that will allow you to do so quickly is up at the
Friends Committee on National Legislation.

I was never more proud of the two Senators from Massachusetts standing tall and booing the President last night when he brought up Social Security. Social Security is fine all it needs are slightly higher payroll taxes and a few million more immigrants to join the work force and get on the tax rolls. Leave well enough alone!
