CTSA statement on Roger Haight

The Catholic Theological Society of America has released a statement signed by its board of directors concerning the Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith action on Roger Haight. It's an excellent statement, and makes me proud to be a member of the organization. Posted by hessma at February 21, 2005 02:48 PM

3 cheers for the Vatican.
Error has no rights , the very title of Haights book reduces Jesus to a mere symbol! On that basis alone it is discredited!
It seems theologians dislike being corrected
The American Church should grow up and get itself in line with Rome.
Time to bring back public defrocking, excommunication and interdiction.

I can see that theological heads are going to roll now that Pope Benedict XVI is in control. The recent firing of Fr. Tom Reese from America magazine is another example. Every modern minded academic had better have a plan-B in the works, because the next 20 years of this Pontificate is going to be outrageously unprogressive.
